I find it almost impossible to work to music with lyrics; too distracting.

Personally I also listen to quite a lot of Drum and Bass, from both the soft style 'liquid' right through to borderline 'torture music' if I'm feeling really energetic. On the side of that preference, there's also Aphex Twin, Limewax etc.
Softer preferences also include DJ Vadim, radio Soulwax, Jurassic 5, Röyksopp, Zero 7, various Dubstep artists etc....
