2) I should note that with 50+% Texan blood, I'm legally allowed (some might say obliged) to use the phrase "Yee Haw" and its variants.
Looks like my Feedalizer isn't on the list. How do you detect hoe gems?

I downloaded both your gem and your tarball. You're not using hoe. To more directly answer your question, I look at the declared dependencies in the gemspec.
I know for sure that the gem was built using Hoe. The version used (on 2006-10-11) maybe didn't add itself to the dependency list?
I also noticed that my Manifest.txt doesn't include some files it should (like Rakefile).
I'll fix these things and use the latest version of Hoe for my next release.
