I've had to switch this blog over to requiring a typekey login to comment. It is a small hoop to jump through, but it is necessary. I'm just getting far too much spam submitted to the site. You don't have to see any of it, since I was moderating everything, but it was becoming a pain in the ass for me.
I'm very sorry about this. But for now it is necessary. I'm open to suggestions for improving the situation. Let me know what you think.
Oh... and I'm thinking of switching to typo, since it supports marsedit and has a bunch of features now. What do you think about that?

well, I think it would be cool to see typekey integrated with typo ;)
We'd love to see TypeKey support in Typo, too, especially now that there's a ruby TypeKey client.
Integration with TypeKey and OpenID are on our list for the next major rev of Typo; maybe I'll drop by the Wednesday hacking night one of these times and work on getting one or both of them working.
For what it's worth, I've only seen one comment spam on my Typo blog in the last 6 weeks, and that's with all of the spam prevention code disabled. For the moment, Typo is low-profile enough that none of the automated spamming tools support it, so we only get people manually typing spam into blogs.
